Training a zigzag machine operator to perform this task efficiently can take 6 months or more. Many people have attempted to develop a system to do this operation using an automatic pattern sewing machine.
We succeeded.
The machine shown here is fitted with an adjustable work holding system with the following features:
The standard version handles hook and eye tape widths from 16mm to 63mm. An extra wide version is also possible increasing the maximum tape width to 78mm.
The bra body can be perfectly aligned on both sides to match the width of the hook and eye tapes.
The stitch pattern may be any width or pitch i.e. the stitch pitch or width down the tape edges may be different than the stitch run across the tape end. (This is very difficult when using a zigzag machine).
The stitch may be programmed to go over the tape edge or through to tape.
Designed to fit the Brother KE436C (for up to 63mm tapes) or Brother BAS311G (for up to 78mm wide tapes).
